The success of the postrock genre stems from its capacity to shift the mood and, more often than not, provide the perfect soundtrack to whatever imagined movies might be flickering through the listener’s imagination. It’s easy to understand the attraction of something that frequently starts small and then stretches out toward some far horizon that immediately feels cinematic and thus becomes monumental in scale.
