WORKING WITH MY NEW CABBING MATERIAL
BY BOB RUSH
This project involves utilizing the new cabbing material I introduced in my last project — a doublet incorporating an agate material capped with a layer of basanite. In this project, I started with a slab of Madison River blue agate that was 5mm thick. I attached a slab of basanite that was 3.5mm thick. I sketched the shape of the cab on both pieces of material utilizing a cab template. I ground them to the shape then flattened them on a piece of glass with tumbling grit. I assembled them with Epoxy 330. I then drew a pattern on the basanite side with a brass scribe.
