WAN HAI’S FINAL FEEDER Taiwan-based Wan Hai Lines has taken delivery of the 23,802dwt Wan Hai 296. She is the final vessel in a series of 2,038TEU capacity container feeder ships it ordered from China Shipbuilding Trading Co and Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard. The 175m-long vessels all sail on a loaded draught of 10m and have a maximum cruising speed of 20.6 knots. JS
LNG CARRIERS ORDEREDSouth Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries has been chosen to build a series of seven 174,000m 3 LNG carriers for a consortium consisting of Malaysia’s MISC Berhad and a joint venture between Japan’s K Line, NYK Line and Hong Kong’s China LNG Shipping Holdings. To be delivered in 2025 and 2026, all seven 299m by 46.4m ships will be employed to transport LNG produced by Qatar’s Qatar Energy to various countries around the globe. JS
