I am always amazed at how each and every teddy bear artist develops their own style, making wonderful and unique teddy bears and other animals. For some it takes a few years to determine the kind of bear they really like to make while for others, it can happen almost straight away. We have examples from all sorts of teddy bear artists in this issue, along with some who have found a new style through need or sudden inspiration from a life event.
Collectors love to discover new bears from their favorite artists or from new ones unknown to them until that point. I for one cannot wait until we are able to visit and browse at bear fairs once more!
My father lives on an island, meaning I have to book my car on to a ferry whenever I want to visit. I am sure a lot of teddy bears cross that stretch of water too, probably on a vacation, along with many other rivers and oceans around the world. Traveling to far off places, in our own country or further afield, is something many of us have missed in recent times. It doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun closer to home though, and the bears on our gallery pages have definitely discovered their sea legs.
