ITALY’S disappointment at losing away to Georgia at senior level on Sunday will be slightly offset by a strong showing in the Six Nations U20 series which saw them finish the eight-team tournament in third place behind South Africa, who were a class apart with the Boks beating Wales 47-27 in the final.
The Italians, having beaten Scotland and Georgia in their group games before losing narrowly to the Welsh, recovered their momentum in the scorching summer heat of Treviso to record an historic season double over England in a very different game to their last meeting on a frosty night back in February.
