MOSCOW'S MEDDLING: OBAMA HITS BACK
America expelled thirty five Russian diplomats last week as part of a package of measures designed to punish Moscow for cyber attacks allegedly aimed at influencing the US election. President Obama also shut down two country estates, in Maryland and New York, that are used by Russian diplomats, and ordered sanctions against Russia’s two top intelligence agencies, the FSB and the GRU. “All Americans should be alarmed by Russia’s actions,” Obama said.
“Such activities have consequences.” The Kremlin rejected the hacking claims as “unfounded”, but chose not to retaliate, saying it wouldn’t stoop to the same level of “irresponsible diplomacy”.
