NEW BLACK MIRROR
Channel 4 may have stolen one of the BBC’s most precious possessions in The Great British Bake Off, but the channel has now lost a flagship programme of its own with the move of Charlie Brooker’s acclaimed Black Mirror to Netflix this week. The streaming service decided to acquire the new series of the futuristic anthology after its re-runs of previous episodes went down a storm with its international audience. As a result, Brooker’s new set of tech-based dramas has a bigger budget and a much more global feel, with two of the six episodes filmed in America and another in Scandinavia, featuring a starry cast that includes Happy Valley’s James Norton, Boardwalk Empire’s Kelly Macdonald and Game of Thrones’ Jerome Flynn. We sat down with 45-year-old Brooker to hear more.
