What took you to Chase Park Transduction in Athens instead of a studio in Atlanta?
Both of my brothers went to the University of Georgia there, so I was visiting all the time. And my parents just moved there. The more I visited, the more I got into the music scene there and the people. And in Athens it’s like you either record at home or at Chase Park. There weren’t many options there. I started off making little demos there, and then I met Drew Vandenberg, who produced the new record but has worked on all my projects.
You made this record not in one long session, but in quick bursts of writing and recording. What was that process like?
