KATE AND WILLS, WHY THEY WON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE
When it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were set to visit India, many royal watchers predicted that a visit to the Taj Mahal to pay tribute to William’s late mother, Princess Diana, would be in order. After all, for many, the first clue that the Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage was in trouble was that iconic image of Diana sitting alone in front of the ultimate monument to love during the couple’s royal tour of India in 1992. A spokesperson acknowledged the symbolism of the Cambridges’ visit, saying, ‘[William] appreciates the iconic status of the images that exist of the princess at the Taj. But twenty four years on from her visit, the Duke and Duchess are looking forward to seeing this beautiful place for themselves and creating some new memories.’
