The summer holidays are over and it’s back to business as usual for head teacher Clare, which means 4am starts and late finishes down the week, and helping to run the holiday accommodation on the family farm. She hopes taking part in Project Trail will give her running structure – and a bit of time to put her own needs first.
How’s your training going?
It’s going OK. I’ve run a number of races over the last few weeks and some have been better than others. I did one with an athletics club, which was quite challenging, near Woodchester. I did get in under the race cut-off time but it was quite pressured because [the club runners] were quite serious. Whereas at the Cranham Mummy Beast that we’re doing tomorrow, there’s even a walking option.
