Mind
It’s no secret that many of us run to maintain our mental wellbeing, but the conversations around that are only just coming to the fore. There are so many taboos surrounding mental ill-health and Mind has been seeking to quash those from day one. At Women’s Running, every single runner we talk to has the same thing to say: I run for my physical AND mental wellbeing. And that’s a sentiment we hear from dedicated parkrunners and elite athletes. We’re all the same. We know the difference regular running can bring, the light it can offer in the darkest of times, and the effect it can have on our feelings of mental imbalance. But we also know there are many out there who don’t experience this, who are not aware of the power of running. This is where Mind, and its public campaigns, come in. Women throughout the country recognise the importance of exercise to wellbeing, and support this charity like no other.
