Fancy a last blast on those trails before the summer sets? Here are six of the best September trail races

8-10 September

For a really wild experience, head on over to Devon for the third Something Wild Trail Festival – a celebration of Dartmoor and a tribute to trail running. There are five events to choose from and the Summit Wild 50K Ultra is a new addition to this year’s event with 3,500ft of ascent to conquer. If you’re not quite up to that challenge, there are four other distances to choose from: marathon, half, 10K and 5K, plus kids races too, so all ages and abilities can get involved. Camping and catering is available on-site, with daytime activities for the kids and guest speakers for the grown-ups.
