Sub-saharan Magazine is a new online weekly for speculative fiction with an African flavour. The editors, Walter Dinjos and Chigozie Nelson, also publish a quarterly anthology showcasing the best stories.
Walter and Chigozie aim to address the under-representation of Africa in the fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres, so pieces must either be written by Africans or ‘have African speculative fiction written all over them’. That given, writers anywhere are welcome to submit.
The zine publishes flash and short fiction. Stories should ‘dive into rare African cultures and traditions, tweak them to… taste and sprinkle magic and futuristic science over them.’
