Gaynor and Simon Thomas honeymooned in St Ives 32 years ago and have been regular visitors ever since, ‘I have holidayed here most summers, with our daughter who is now grown up. It has a special place in our hearts,’ says Gaynor. It is no surprise then that the couple now have their own home in the seaside town. ‘We often mused over how wonderful it would be to live in St Ives and we tried on two previous occasions to buy a home here and both attempts fell through. But we always kept looking.’
The sitting room is a cosy space without being cluttered thanks to Gaynor’s careful styling choices. The St Ives print is from the WhistleFish Gallery in St Ives and is by Becky Bettesworth. The cushions are handmade by Gaynor using the Vanessa Arbuthnott Bohemian range
