There’s a popular misconception, too often repeated in talking-head documentaries, that the 1990s were all about Britpop.
As many of us who were there know all too well, that’s far from the full story, with the decade also producing a dance music explosion as club culture truly took hold. One of the leading acts to emerge from that fertile period was The Chemical Brothers, who comfortably furrowed their own path and were keenly fêted by both the electronic dance music and guitar camps (hence those great remixes and collaborations with The Charlatans, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and Manic Street Preachers etc).
