‘£2 ScotRail smartcard’
In Issue 702, Gareth Elson warned about a Facebook scam offering a £3 Great Western Railway ‘UK Annual Pass’. The same day I read that, I came across a Facebook advert promoting a 12-month ‘smartcard’ for free travel on ScotRail. It was a snip at just £2! This was a ‘special price’ for only 500 cards. How could I, as a regular ScotRail passenger, possibly refuse? Well, I’m also a regular Computeractive reader so I knew it was 99.99-per-cent likely to be a scam.
