This weekend, May 12-13, Dalnashean in Port Appin will be open to the public from 1-6pm.
STUNNING gardens in Argyll will have their gates opened to the public this weekend to raise money for charity. As part of Scotland’s Garden Scheme, around 500 gardens across the country in total are opening this year to support more than 200 charities. And to celebrate Visit Scotland’s Year of Young People, children go free. This weekend, May 12 and 13, Dalnashean in Port Appin will be open to the public from 1-6pm.
The garden will showcase camellias, rhododrendron, azaleas and magnolias, give views to Lismore and Loch Linnhe, and have woodcraft for sale, with all proceeds going to Appin Parish Church and Mary’s Meals. Also opening its doors that weekend from 1-5pm is Inveryne Woodland Garden in Kilfinan. It consists of 10 acres of garden, including woodland, a burn, banks and bridges, rhodies, azaleas, Japanese maples and hydrangeas. All proceeds go to Cowal Elderly Befrienders.
