The disused St Mary’s RC Primary School in Fort William has had its broken windows and doors boarded up and the electricity supply is shortly to be disconnected after it emerged teenagers were still gaining access to the property at night and at weekends.
The school on Fassifern Road was closed in August 2015, but despite youngsters being warned back in August this year by police to stay out of the derelict building due to the health risk from asbestos, reports have continued to emerge of youngsters accessing the building.
A Highland Council spokesperson told the Lochaber Times: ‘The council has been in contact with the police in Fort William and we have since had all broken windows and doors boarded up to secure the building.
