FORT WILLIAM
Fort William Town Team held a meeting on Monday November 12 at the West End Hotel. Members were updated on the following: Backlands: Sue Keen took a call from Mark Timmins of Travelodge on November 1. The car park has not been re-opened because Travelodge is changing its automatic number plate recognition contractor. The contract is currently out to tender and Travelodge hoped to have the car park open again in a few weeks. Mark reminded the meeting Travelodge needed to put the fence back up. James was to investigate. Paperwork had been completed to enable Travelodge to make its donation to the Town Team.
The team also discussed the possibility of two hours’ free parking in the six weeks before Christmas but Andrew Baxter advised this had not yet been agreed with Inverness. Cruise ships: Sixteen cruise ships had been confirmed for 2019 so far, including the Hebridean Princess which will visit four times. There will be eight maiden visits.
