With my job, I am living on an isolated island in the Indian Ocean called Diego Garcia. It is in British Indian Ocean Territory. It is a beautiful island. I am very much accepted for who I am and most everyone on the island knows who I am. Last time I was here I earned a nickname Queen Diva, which everyone knows me as. I go out fully dressed and with style. This is the first year that they had a Pride Party; the military just received their charter in January so they are learning… I was involved in the Pride Party as a judge for the Lip Sync Contest; a contestant in the Fashion Show; and as part of the opening number. It was an awesome event and everyone enjoyed the night very much.
I was born in 1955 with my twin sister. My mom was told she had identical twins -except I had an appendage I wasn’t supposed to have. I have felt female my entire life and loved Halloween because I could be myself and dress girly every year for that one day. My friends were all female, and I never related to the male gender. I hated sports and still do. I do love equestrian activities and love Horses with all my heart. We shared her [sister’s] menstrual cycle our entire life. I had the cramps, headaches and mood-swings. I would run away from my mom when she tried to feed me something for my headaches that would make me throw up. My twin accepts me as I am after my transition and will always support me.
