In the first seasonal outings, the KZ2 represents the only geared category, including the protagonists of the KZ. A custom of the period that produces exclusive comparisons between the youngest and most combative drivers and the top class senators. The forecasts hide some uncertainty, above all regarding those who will prove their true worth in the field when temperatures rise. The calendar with two tests out of three (also counting the World Championship) that will be held in Italy could right from now mix the cards on the table offering a real advantage to all the experts of Sarno first and then Lonato, counting Wackersdorf (Germany) as the wild card stage as well as the start of the season.
IT HAPPENED IN 2018
Last season turned out to be an authentic “Italian-French derby”, not only for the tracks on the calendar (Salbris and Lonato) but, above all, for the final epilogue. At Salbris, Adrien Renaudin managed to make the big sweep, mortgaging the title. During the French weekend, Renaudin turned into a war machine managing to put together excellent results between qualifying and direct clashes, then closing with the triumph in the Final, before the two compatriots Loubere and Petit. In the Italian weekend, the French struggled not a little and the eighth place in the Final ended the Champion’s calvary. Renaudin thus managed to close the European Championship with only 11 points ahead of Giacomo Pollini, the latter being the absolute protagonist in the Salbris heats but not quite performing at home: where he finished fifth.
