Property know-how with George

I’m a firm believer that good design can genuinely change your life. You only have to look at all the developments in product design to see how innovative technological design has transformed how we live in the 21st century. We can now communicate with each other using devices that we could only have dreamt of 30 years ago and we can now travel to virtually any place on earth in not much more than a day. We still have a long way to go to make our products and means of travel more sustainable and energyefficient, but hopefully we’re heading in the right direction. Personally, I think it’s incredible how we are always looking to innovate and push design, engineering and products to make our lives better.

The same could and should be said for our homes. I have no doubt that a well-designed, high-quality home can improve your life. Your home is like an extended member of your family who is with you for many years of your life. You modify your home in a very personal way to create what is hopefully a beautiful, comfortable and safe environment, while your home then gives back by shaping the way you experience every day of your life in your place of shelter. A good home has the potential to lift your spirits, while a badly designed, poor quality one can make you depressed. One of my favourite phrases of all time is ‘there’s no place like home’, but this only applies if it’s a good home and genuinely makes you happy.
