TWENTY-TWO primary shinty teams arrived at Taynuilt Playing Fields on Sunday May 7 to compete in the annual South of Scotland Primary School Championships.
The playing fields were basked in sunshine as teams from as far as Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdour vied with Argyll and Bute sides to be crowned south primary champions.
At the end of the group stages, the four teams qualifying from the P7 section were Tay nuilt, Rothesay, Glasgow Gaels Reds and Aberdour respectively. Taynuilt Tigers and Inverkeithing qualified from their P5 section, while Glen Aray and Dunollie qualified from their group. Taynuilt’s impressive performances culminated in a close win again Inver keithling in the P5 final, winning the trophy for the second year in a row.
