Texas: beyond a utopia, a reality
With the legislative session still in effect, Texas moves closer to the industry patients deserve. Some of the most anticipated changes are from Rep. Stephanie Klick’s House Bill 1805 and dispensary licensing. The bill aims to increase the allowed amount of THC in medical cannabis and add chronic pain to the list of accepted medical conditions, as well as expanding state coverage. What once seemed like a utopia is becoming closer to reality. For this reason, in this new edition of Cannabis World Journals, Ethan Russo, a well-known neurologist, researcher, and author with a focus on psychopharmacology and the endocannabinoid system, is featured as the person of the month. In the CannaGrow section, the varieties of cannabis that should be produced to offer therapeutic benefits to patients in Texas are analyzed. In CannaCountry, we will talk about the United States, its progress in legislation, and projections. In CannaLaw, some cannabis litigation and the two faces of the cannabis industry in Texas are discussed. The CannaTrade section talks about the transformation of the cannabis industry in Texas, and finally, in the CannaMed section, the medicinal properties of cannabis in the management of endometriosis are described.
