One of the great characters of the historic racing scene,Sally Mason-Styrron will be best remembered for her drives in classic Ferraris. Aregular at Goodwood events from the first Festival of Speed, she competed in several ofMaranello’s finest, but it was with her 1950 166 Barchetta that she was most familiar.
With husband Dudley, she was aregular on the Tour Auto in some spectacular machinery including aFord GT40 and her favourite Group 4Ferrari Daytona, which was always driven to and from their European sorties. Hillclimbing wasan early motorsportpassion and competing inthe 1980s with the ex-Chris Amon 166/246 Dino was always relished.
On the 2005 Rallye des Princesses she joined Jennifer Pappalardo to drive one of the greatest 250 California Spiders, the ex-Le Mans 2015GT, from Paris to Monaco and loved every minute.Always awonderfully compassionate character,she was aregular visitor to friend Sir Stirling Moss during his illness.
