Microsoft fixes Outlook bug that slows down computers
Microsoft will soon update the classic version of Outlook to fix a bug that uses too much of your computer’s processing power, making it work slowly.
Users have complained about the problem on Microsoft’s forums (www. snipca.com/54667) since last November.
WHAT WE THINK
What a mess Microsoft has made of Outlook in the past few years. First it released a terrible new version that made many users want to stick with the classic (and better) edition. Then it broke the option that actually lets you switch back (see page 71). Microsoft says it’ll support the classic version until “at least 2029” (www. snipca.com/50756),but it’s acting like it can’t wait to be rid of this pesky tool. This latest fix has taken too long to arrive – it must act faster next time.
