Q I bought a Sony PS-LX310BT Bluetooth Record Player at Christmas. Because its speaker isn’t very good I decided to buy a standalone Sonos Era 100 speaker (pictured) from the Argos website, but I couldn’t connect it to the record player. However, when I returned it to an Argos store the next day, I was refused a refund because I’d opened the box. Can that be right?
Alan Hodson
A No it’s not. The Sonos Era 100 is compatible with Alan’s record player, as confirmed by many articles explaining how to connect them. This suggests the speaker is faulty and therefore Alan is due a full refund. He could also have sought a refund even if the speaker had connected to his record player. This is because customers are allowed to examine goods bought online and reject them within 14 days, faulty or not.
