With numerous horseback expeditions in her saddlebag – through Central Asia, Mongolia and Siberia – and a rural Oxfordshire upbringing that she looks back on fondly, Countess Alexandra Tolstoy’s connection to nature runs deep.
It’s little wonder then that for this adventurer and broadcaster – adistant relative of War and Peace author Leo Tolstoy – her latest venture is rooted in the natural world, drawing upon delicate fauna and flora as well as illustrations from her favourite 19th-century folk tales.
