CARRY ON WORKING FROM HOME
How to ensure that you can maintain your work demands and look after yourself when working remotely
Working from home has been a work in progress for most people, and it has taken time for many to find a comfortable setup that works for them. This is not surprising when you consider that for most employers of office-based staff, the actual cost is roughly twice the salary because of accommodation, computing equipment, health and safety, and all of the other considerations people receive to get their work done. This should not stop you making the most of your home environment because it takes very little effort to greatly improve your home working setup and to make it more comfortable and more efficient for your needs. We will highlight the simple and effective ways in which you can make working from home for extended periods much more manageable. You’ll feel more balanced as a result of these useful tips.
Be more secure than ever
If you are using your Apple products, and in particular a Mac, for work purposes then you will need to pay particular attention to your Security & Privacy settings. You should read up on all of your employer’s rules and regulations, and also check to see what devices you are allowed to use. Hopefully they will let you carry on using your Mac.
The big list
To carry on working from home you will need the right equipment. We would advise to make a list in an app such as Magpie. It lets you find the right products and allows you to note them with images, pricing and links, which you can then send to your employer. Be realistic with your requests if you can.
1 A new list
Create a new list in Magpie and spend some time thinking about all of the equipment you will need. You want to find quality products at sensible prices.
2 Capture the details
Snap a screenshot of the product, copy the link to it, and note the price. This is the minimum detail you will need to get it covered by expenses.
