Error when installing a package?
> This is most probably because the developer who built that Installer package didn’t notarise it correctly. You may still be able to open it using the Open command in the Finder. Please tell the developer so that they can get this right, as it affects all who install that on recent versions of macOS.
How do I mute the startup chime?
> For Intel and Apple silicon Macs, this is controlled in NVRAM settings. In Big Sur, use the Sound pane, where there’s a checkbox control. On older macOS, open Terminal and type the command sudo nvram StartupMute=%01 At the following prompt, enter your admin user’s password.
Mojave converts your startup drive to Apple’s new file system, which is likely to impair performance if that’s a hard drive.
