1951 ROCKET 88

Recognised by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the first rock and roll song ever recorded, Ike Turner and his band, credited as Jackie Brenston & His Delta Cats, record Rocket 88 (after the Oldsmobile car of the same name). The track is produced by Sam Phillips (founder of Sun Studio) and sets the template for rock and roll.

Elvis made history in 1956 with 17 different songs in the Billboard Top 100 singles chart, including three number ones
