AT TIMES, this year has seemed like a never-ending highlights reel for Mo Farah. Success has followed success in 2016 and, as all eyes turn to the double Olympic champion once again and his bid to claim a third successive Great North Run victory, it would be easy to think of Sunday’s race as marking something of a coronation for Britain’s current king of distance running.
However, it’s worth noting that he hasn’t always had it all his own way over the past few months. Two of the rare low points of Farah’s year have come on British shores – when he stepped away from the track.
