PARALYMPIC sprint world champion and world recordholder Richard Browne has announced his retirement from the sport at just 25 years old.
The T44 amputee sprinter set both the 100m and 200m world records last year en route to winning world titles, but withdrew from the Paralympics due to a hamstring tear.
Browne, said on Twitter “I’m retired” before going on to explain that he was homeless last year.
He said: “Every struggle, every injury, every night I slept in my car to live out my dreams and take care of my family!
