INTRODUCTION
Iam delighted to be able to introduce this edition of Mental Health Nursing, which has a special focus on suicide and how it can impact us all.
The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA), which now boasts over 800 members nationally, is a collaborative of NHS trusts, businesses and individuals who are all committed to suicide prevention in the UK and beyond.
Included in this issue are articles on what mental health nurses can do to help effective suicide prevention, an interview with Joe Rafferty, one of the main driving forces behind the ZSA and chief executive of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
