Green Wallet is a new app that connects conscious shoppers with fully vetted, sustainable businesses and products. But it’s about more than ethical shopping. With each transaction, a tree is planted in collaboration with the Eden Reforestation Project. Plus, each purchase pays shoppers back in Green Coins - a unique in-app currency - they can use to unlock discounts. In future, shoppers will be able to donate Green Coins to real-world causes and projects.
The app’s launch coincided with Earth Day, a moment to remember that - despite major distractions, disruption and devastation in recent days - the climate crisis remains real and immediate. Making alternative choices in how we shop, spend and live are vital votes for creating change.
For the team behind Green Wallet, this is a movement, not a company. Although the app’s launch version debuted with 40 merchants on board, more are being added every week. Features coming soon to the app include a dynamic carbon footprint tracker, which relates customers’ spending to their environmental impact, while also offering tips on how to drive emissions down.
Customers will also make impact investments in-app and, by purchasing a Green Wallet bio debit card, reduce the number of plastic bank cards that are produced each year. A number that currently stands at 6 billion. Download Green Wallet today in the iOS Store and in Google Play.
