Runners can experience a completely flat and fast course that is perfect for achieving their own personal best. Participants can celebrate all that’s great about Portsmouth as you take in the city’s sights and enter the gates of the historic dockyard, passing HMS Warrior, HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Museum along the way.
The route then takes the thousands of runners back towards the sea front, where they experience a unique finish line feeling on Clarence Esplanade, offering beautiful views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight. It’s a weekend that also features the Simplyhealth Great South 5K and the Simplyhealth Junior and Mini Great South Run, which take place the day before on Saturday 20 October.
Over 1,000 people kick offtwo days of sport with a 5K run around Southsea Common before 2,000 children tackle their own personal challenge across a 1.5K and 2.5K course. It doesn’t matter how you run, why you run or how fast you go. Every runner has a story; it’s time to start yours.
