MICHAEL RIMMER believes he is close to being in the best shape of his career.
Rimmer ran a 1:44.93 in June – his best time in four years – to earn himself qualification for Rio just days after an epidural.
The Liverpool runner is a European silver medallist from 2010 with a personal best of 1:43.89, but says he was in the best shape of his life in the build-up to the 2008 Olympics before food poisoning took its toll in the days before.
