The colomba cake (colomba di pasqua) is Easter’s answer to a panettone. Light, buttery dough is made using sourdough fermentation methods. Each colomba is slowly proved over 72 hours to produce a fragrant enriched cake. A true taste of Sicily, Sicilian bakers Fiasconaro are renowned for their collaborations with Dolce & Gabbana (Domenico Dolce is from Sicily). The stunning blue and white colomba tins are designed by Sicilian artists, and inspired by the traditional majolica pottery of the island.
