Classic Bus  |  Aug/Sep 2022 (180)
East Kent’s first Daimler Fleetlines were its first rear-engined double deckers. James White tells us all about them. Frank Carter tells us about East Yorkshire’s ‘deckers that were meant to go through the Beverley Bar, but didn’t always, and several people tell us more about those buses built to go on rails.
We’re going under the Chiswick flyover before it actually was one, taking a look at different aspects of Victoria Coach Station (including a trip to the opera at Glyndebourne) and seeing what Derby decided to try out before settling on Volvo.
We also have more on continental tractor/trailer buses, we identify a steam bus that someone puzzled about, but puzzle about which Guy Arab was at the 1950 Commercial motor Show.
For something a bit unusual, we look at buses in South Wales with bodies built in South Wales, and more of those rare Lex Maxeta bodied Bedford midibuses.
Plus there’s our popular, lively and well-illustrated Forum section with topics ranging far and wide, and a look at some new books.
