Classic Bus  |  Oct/Nov 2019 (163)
Another centenary is celebrated in this Classic Bus, that of Bedford’s bus depot. Chris Lodington remembers it in the 1960s. And talking of the 1960s, David Pike says he preferred the 1970s…and explains why.
Peter Tulloch admonishes us for not mentioning Foden in the editorial about tin fronts in the previous Classic Bus, so here redresses the balance. Basil Hancock asks if Midland Red’s home-made buses were that good, and tells us a bit more about London Transport’s FRM. Chris Drew and Michael Dryhurst, meantime, fantasise about some FRMs that might have been.
We have an engineer on his day off…photographing buses, what else? We tell the story of a bus and bridge in Folkestone, look at Roadliners in Coventry and indulge in a bit more AEC Regent V appreciation - M&D's this time.
Our delve into the Bus Archive throws up the tale of a small operator in the Highlands, and there’s our usual lively and well-illustrated Forum section, Roger Davies telling tales of the unexpected, and a look at some new books.
