SABRE REBORN
The December 2022 issue of FlyPast features an air-to-air view of North American F-86F Sabre ‘Beauteous Butch II’ on its cover, shot by Mike Killian during a remarkable photo sortie in Florida. Remarkable because Mike managed to capture the launch of an Atlas V rocket from nearby Kennedy in the background! Our cover story documents the equally astonishing rebirth of this classic jet, which is now airworthy in the hands of Doug Matthews.
