Heat, sweat, cool down, repeat. Finnish people have embraced the tradition of sauna for thousands of years and for many it’s as essential to life as food or air. That same fervour has never gripped the UK but the popularity of saunas has skyrocketed in recent years. In fact, the British Sauna Society estimates Finnish-style public saunas in the UK have doubled in number between 2023 and 2024. Does this mean Britain is developing its own sauna culture?
