All on paths or tracks, but some rough going with boggy sections.
Option to travel on the West Highland Line. Start from the CP opposite the Post Office in Arisaig village, NM659864. Follow the B8008 NW then turn onto the minor road along the shore for about 400m, until past the cemetery. Pass through a gate and follow the path uphill to rejoin the B8008. Follow it past the Ch and Sch, then fork NE on to a track that continues beyond the A830 to Kinloid Fm. Continue NE on the track for 5Km, crossing the railway at the level crossing, past Sunisletter to reach Scamadale. Climb E on a path, curving SE up through a conifer plantation. It emerges onto the open hillside and climbs more steeply, turning S to reach a col at NM707885, 460m alt. From here, a diversion may be taken up NW, then N to the summit of Carn a’ Mhadaidh-ruaich, adding 0.8Km and 50m ascent to the route. From the col, follow the path, descending gradually S then SE, to cross the Borrodale Burn at NM712874. Stay on the path, which gradually descends SSW to reach the A830 near Borrodale Ho. Transport required 5mins from start, or train from Beasdale Stn (1.5Km E) at 1627 or 1837.
