The renewable energy company behind controversial plans for a cluster of hydro-power schemes on the remote Glen Dessary Estate in Lochaber has conformed it has scrapped its proposals. Developer Innogy Renewables UK Ltd told the Lochaber Times it had decided not to proceed with the scheme on the 15,000-acre estate, which belongs to Sir Patrick Grant, and which lies 30 miles west of Fort William, at the head of remote Loch Arkaig.
