A light aircraft carrying three people came off the runway at Oban Airport in North Connel last Friday.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly after 2pm and later reported that there were no injuries. The accident occurred as the small plane was taking off and pictures show the craft lying among the bushes at the side of the runway. An Argyll and Bute Council spokesperson said: ‘A private aircraft carrying three people had an unsuccessful take-off this afternoon. Thankfully, nobody was injured. No scheduled passenger flights have been affected.’ A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘We received a call about an aircraft crash at around 2pm on July 13.There are no injuries. Emergency services attended and inquiries into the cause are ongoing.’
