After two weeks of hard pre-season training and the D & K Lafferty Cup tournament Oban Saints play the first of four pre-season friendlies when they take on Vale of Leven Juniors at the rugby pitch on Saturday. The game kicks off at 2pm and will be refereed by Jimmy Litster. The following Saturday (July 28) the Oban side take on Kincardine again at the rugby pitch, kick-off at 2pm, with referee Martin Rae in charge.
This is followed by the annual Argyll and Bute Cup Tournament in Lochgilphead on Saturday August 4. Saints have been drawn in Group two along with hosts Lochgilphead Red Star, Port Glasgow and Neilston. The Oban side then take on South Lochaber Thistle at Glencruitten on Wednesday August 8, kick-off 7pm. This will be followed by a game against an Oban Saints youth team on a date still to be decided. The Scottish Amateur League programme gets under way on Saturday August 18. Pre-season training continues on Monday and Wednesday nights at the rugby club taken by fitness instructor Jemma Campbell. Sessions start at 6.15pm.
