VOTERS in Dursley ignored our article in Eye 1648 and elected a GP to represent them on Gloucestershire county council, despite him twice falling foul of the General Medical Council (GMC). Dr Richard Dean is, according to the Green party, “kind, compassionate, enthusiastic and committed to serving the local community”. However, the patient he invited out for lunch in 2017 when she consulted him about back pain told the GMC she was “surprised and perturbed”.
