Although Sparkle remains the biggest weekend of the Trans- Pride season there is an everincreasing number of other Trans-Pride events taking place such as my own home town’s one in Brighton that first started in 2013. Although not the villagetakeover that Sparkle is, there’s an increasing number of official and unofficial events across the week every year, with the biggest event being the Saturday March, followed by the event on Brunswick Square.
It started with a huge gathering around the Marlborough Pub for a number of speeches by the organizers and guest speakers. After about half an hour the march itself commenced. That saw 4000 Trans People and allies march past Brighton Pier and along the seafront. The mindblowing number of people, along with lots of support from spectators and passers-by, made you feel like you were part of an amazing spectacle as you marched along the seafront.
After the march we entered Brunswick Square where we spent the afternoon relaxing in the park, listening to the entertainment on the stage and looking around the various stalls set up representing various charities and organisations.
