T his 1925 Exhibit card of Lou Gehrig – released during the Hall of Famer’s first full season in the majors and graded – was sold for $801,960 with buyer’s premium in Goldin Auctions’ 2 021 Goldin Elite Auction that closed January 31.
The postcard-sized Exhibit earned a PSA 6 EX-MT with a notation of a mark on the card. That was a handwritten notation (“Lou Gehrig”) on the card’s unprinted reverse side that had been largely erased and is barely visible.
