The jersey worn by Michael Jordan in his final NBA game on April 16, 2003 in Philadelphia sold for $570,000 including buyer’s premium in Goldin Auctions’ Goldin Elite Auction that closed January 31.
According to Goldin Auctions, the jersey was photomatched by two authentication companies (MeiGray & Sports Investors) to 14 games. “But it also comes directly from the personal collection of George Koehler, who is a long-time associate of Michael Jordan dating back to when Jordan joined the Bulls in 1984, having originally been his limousine driver, then his personal assistant and friend. Koehler was also part in the popular ESPN documentary The Last Dance,” said the auction house.
